My Hubby’s Mom Started this Crochet Afghan many years ago, made from scrap specialty yarns of all textures and weights, her eyes and health failing, she never finished.
She passed 10 years ago. It took me this long to finish. I wanted it to be her as I added to it.
As I knotted and kept every thread she left dangling in the color changes, starts, and finish. It was her Coat of Many Colors to hand down and add to. Some rows are double crochet, others single crochet. A meandering of either or…
I realized that while adding to this the next generation could pick it up and add to it also, so there is no border, no finished edge, and on my last row, my specialty scrap yarn ran out almost midway, tied off awaiting the next to pick up where we left off.

Ayep, I am a Whimsical Ecelectic MawMaw. I wanted something different for breakfast, Flavorful. (I have never been the usual foods for breakfast gal) Of course we need good for my health get me through the day food. So I decided to have a mix up.
I was a Chef’s Assistant at a Country Club in the mid 70’s. The best Advice Chef Richard told me was to smell my spices before adding. If they smell like what you are wanting to make, add a little and taste. Always a little, because you can always add to, but you cannot take from.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Garam Masala seasoning. I love this Seasoning, the depth of warmth and exotic flavor matches perfect with Roasting a Sweet Potato. This Is One Large Mississippi Sweet Potato cut like fries. I sprinkled about a Teaspoon of Garam Masala. Add some Salt and Olive Oil, Toss it to coat and bake for 20 minutes in a 400° Oven and you have Tender, Sweet and Savory in every bite.
Here’s the good for you part that Mawmaw has to let you know about. Sweet Potatoes: Sweet potatoes are a rich source of fibre as well as containing an array of vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, selenium, and they’re a good source of most of our B vitamins and vitamin C. ~~BBC Good Food. Also according to Medical News Today Health Benefits are: Improving insulin sensitivity in diabetes, Maintaining healthful blood pressure levels, Reducing the risk of cancer, Improving digestion and regularity, Protecting eye health, Boosting immunity and Reducing inflammation. So this one Sweet Tater is I believe Labeled a Super Food. Makes for a Super Day! 😉
Now let’s look at this Garam Masala Spice Blend. I do get mine from Spice and Tea Exchange Garam masala is full of antioxidants which help in preventing skin problems and also help fight inflammation. According to Dr. Rupali Dutta, garam masala has carminative properties and apart from boosting digestion, it also helps in fighting bloating, flatulence and even nausea. ~~NDTV Food
I can say that with all foods Unprocessed is best. Everything in Moderation.
The Sammie? Ayep it’s another one of my Flavor Foods … It consists of a Frozen Slice of Whole Foods Pioneer Bread (or what you have on hand that you enjoy). Spread w/Basil Pesto. Then slice in half. Add a Slice of Muenster Cheese cut in half and placed on both sides. Slice of Tomato placed on top of one side ( Or like me one for each side). I Sprinkled McCormick’s Himalayan Salt, Pepper, Garlic Mix Blend on. (This Blend has become a favorite and used Daily) Put onto a sheet pan in Toaster Oven or oven til Cheese is melted and Bread Toasted. Put them together as a sammie, or eat Open faced. Whichever makes you smile.😁
And I will not Torment you on the goodness of the Sammie.
Always Remember, In today’s time, Information is at your fingertips. If this MawMaw can do it, so can you.😊
Waving 👋 Until next Time. May Today and All Your Tomorrows be filled with Grace, Love, Laughter, and Peace. ~~MawMaw Pam

I go to The Local Produce Stand/Market and try to catch these Items on sale. I simply bring them home, clean, and freeze them in a gallon ziploc bag in a single layer.
Next is Knudson or Lakewood Coconut/Pineapple Juice. (In Todays times it is hard to find just Coconut Milk Blend, or combination of the 2, sometimes all I can find is the pineapple). Today was Meal Prep Roadie Food for the next 20 days.
Memories of when I was a young girl on my Great Aunts Farm. It was a sprawling 3000 acres. They had Bulls, Cows, Sheep, Goats and Chickens. Also Gardens, Rows and Rows of Beans, Tomatoes, Potatoes, corn … well you get the idea. They had 4-6 dogs on property for herding, hunting and companionship. I remember my great cousin going for hikes and coming back with Possums, or gophers, or raccoons to make a weeks worth of dog food. My Great Aunt would put all kinds of leftovers in the pot, make a gravy, toss in leftover crumbled bread, biscuits, cornbread. Before Winter she would load them up on fat from chicken skins and meats she cooked through the week. So they could fatten up and stay warm for the winter.
Well, I don’t go to that degree for my rescue pup. But I do make him Breakfast food to aid in Healthy skin and fur, and the Scoots (anal sac build up). Roadie has his issues, Terrified of Rain, Thunder, Lightening and Fireworks. He loves the Sunlight beaming in a window, playing with his shadow, all the while with a tennis ball in his mouth. We are His Pets, he protects us from every car that drives past, the squirrels, birds and lizards in the back yard. The Black 2 ft grass snake that lives under the walkway to the utility room. Every leaf that falls in the yard and the Mailman…Ayep, Roadies has his own world in which he lives. Him a Happy Rescue Pup. ( he’s about 12 now).
This is Basic Recipe to suit the needs of our Roadie. 1lb Ground Turkey crumbled and cooked with Olive Oil (good for skin and fur) then 2 cups Brown Rice sauted to brown for a couple of minutes. Add 1 cup Peas (I use frozen), 1 cup diced Carrot, 1 small to medium peeled and diced Sweet Potatoe. Add 2 Cups water and simmer on warm for 20 minutes with lid on or more til water is absorbed.
I put into 1/2 Pint Jelly Canning jars. I make sure I pack them by hitting the bottom of jar into my open palm a few times. I leave about 1 inch headspace. After they have cooled enough I put them in freezer. I defrost in our Microwave for 6 minutes and give him half of a jar for breakfast. This usual makes 20 days of meals.
I do not put in Garlic, Onion or any type of seasonings. I read that a lot of these are poisonous to dogs.
He dances and high steps every morning for his breakfast. And yes that is a fresh baked Mandarin Angel Food Cake in the pic. It was baking as I prepared Roadies food. A simple Recipe for a light weight summer dessert. I thaw some Frozen Strawberries and Bluberries to serve on top of a slice. I was told this Recipe 11 years ago.( A Weight Watcher Recipe?) A Box of Angel food Cake Mix and a small can of Mandarin Orange Blended with a Blender. Add the 2 together and follow mixing instructions on box and baking instructions…no need for anything else. Easy Peasy. 😊
I’m giving you a link to Roadies favorite treat. It has Pumpkin, Peanut Butter and ahem…Bacon Grease… need I say More? 😉
